Transfer rumors won't stop making the headlines, even if the summer transfer window closed about two weeks ago. Scouts and sporting directors are constantly monitoring players regardless of the stage of the season the clubs are at.

Tottenham Hotspur have gone through an exhausting summer with all the Harry Kane saga but they seem to have left that drama far behind them. According to reports, Spurs may be turning their attention to a coveted player whose deal runs out next summer.

They wouldn't be alone in this pursuit as Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool were linked to him, while the likes of PSG and Atletico Madrid are also understood to be in the queue. But Tottenham may have already made a contract proposal.

Tottenham join battle for potential free agent in 2022

Over the last few days, AC Milan's Franck Kessie has been all over the news as he attracted interest of European giants. The Ivory Coast international has entered the final year of his contract with the Serie A giants and his future is up in the air.

Renewal negotiations seem to have stalled as both parties are struggling to reach an agreement. Milan wouldn be unable to satisfy Kessie's demands, leaving the door open for any other interested side.

According to Calciomercato, Tottenham have offered a contract worth €8 million per season to Kessie. The Italians, on the other hand, have reportedly tried to renew him with a €5m salary which, with bonuses, could go as high as €6.5 million, an unsatisfying option for Kessie.

Milan still have time to reopen talks before January, when the holding midfielder will be able to talk about a pre-contract agreement with any other club if he hasn't renewed with Milan by then.
