Neymar scored a hat-trick as Brazil's defeated Peru 4-2 in Lima to remain at the top of the standings. Referee Julio Bascuñán was criticized due to some controversial decisions during the game.

Argentina, with Lionel Messi as their biggest star and captain, came from behind to beat Bolivia 2-1 at the Estadio Hernando Siles to clinch the first victory for Argentina in La Paz in 15 years. This way, Argentina and Brazil share the lead of the standings.

Colombia needed a last-minute goal by experienced striker Falcao to draw 2-2 with Chile, while Ecuador defeated Uruguay 4-2 in one of the most exciting games of the second rounds. Meanwhile, Paraguay took a 1-0 away victory over Venezuela.
