Venezuela and Ecuador drew 2-2 for Matchday 3 of Copa America 2021. Despite Ecuador getting ahead two times in the game, Venezuela was able to tie the matchand get their second point in the tournament. Now, La Vinotinto has serious chances of reaching the quarterfinals.

La Tri, coached by Gustavo Alfaro, got ahead in the first half with a goal from Ayrton Preciado, after a bad placement of Venezuelans defenders. But after the break, La Vinotinto renewed its hopes thanks to a header from Edson Castillo.

However, La Vinotinto didn’t show the defensive skills they did have against Colombia. And in a counterattack, Gonzalo Plata ran for goal and surpassed Wilker Fariñez to make the second. But when everything seemed lost for Venezuela, Ronald Hernández, who entered in the second half, put the 2-2 in the score on aggregate time.
