The <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/georgia-bulldogs">Georgia Bulldogs</a> suffered a very deflating loss to the Ole Miss Rebels. After weeks of offensive irregularities, the Bulldogs finally paid the price for their struggles and fell in a big-ranked SEC matchup. The Dawgs’ spirit was deeply affected by this defeat and head coach Kirby Smart revealed the message he delivered to his players after the game.



Georgia dropped nine spots (from No. 2 to No. 11) in the AP Poll after the loss to Ole Miss. The latter surpassed them as they now stand in tenth place. The Rebels’ offense has put the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/ncaa">NCAA</a> on notice, yet the Dawgs thought they were ready for Jaxson Dart and company. They weren’t and they took a big hit because of it.



The Dawgs’ offense stalled once again. Against Ole Miss, Carson Beck was not able to get going and Georgia paid the price for it. It was Beck’s third consecutive game with more interceptions thrown than touchdown passes. Beck threw for 186 yards and an interception. After the game, <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/kirby-smart">Smart</a> addressed his message to the roster going through this concerning stage of the season.



“It’s on to the next. I mean, welcome to the SEC, baby,” Smart told reporters postgame. “I mean, I said when the season started that it was going to be the toughest schedule we’ve ever had in the SEC with the addition of the Texas game on top of all the others we had to play. It’s extremely tough. It’s difficult. We’ve got a big game next week. We’ve got to go out, and we’ve got to find a way to execute at a higher level.”

<h2>Jaxson Dart sends message to the rest of the league</h2>



Dart has become a sensation in the country. The senior-year QB is in second place for most passing yards (3,409) in <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-football">college football</a> and leads Ole Miss to an 8-2 record. After the statement 28-10 win versus Georgia, the Rebels ratified their claim for a Playoffs berth. Dart sneaked in a warning message to the league during the postgame press conference.

“Outside of Alabama, they’ve won 51-straight games. Let me repeat that. 51-straight games. Not non-conference. Not in-conference. That’s 51, including playoffs, straight games. They’re loaded as always and playing really well. Went into Texas, who was the No. 1 team, and beat them. This is a big challenge for us.”

Although Georgia has looked dodgy on the offensive side of the ball, and Ole Miss is confident on their QB Jaxson Dart, when the Red and Black walk onto the field it can make anybody shake in his boots.



<h2>Kirby Smart on Dart, Rebels’ offense</h2>



Though the Bulldogs acknowledge they are the favorites going into Oxford, they won’t underestimate the Rebels. <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/kirby-smart">Smart</a> is not looking to provide anything for Ole Miss’ bulletin board, either.



“I think Jaxson Dart is playing (like) probably one of the best quarterbacks playing in the country in terms of explosive plays,” Smart stated, via On3. “A lot of respect for how he competes. I mean, the guy runs extremely physical, like a SEC running back. He doesn’t try to avoid contact — he actually seeks it.”



Smart also took notice of Ole Miss’ defense: “Lane’s done an incredible job of getting talented players, big, physical. The improvement on defense for them is extremely noticeable. These guys are disruptive, powerful, fast, tons of sacks, tons of tackles for loss.“

The Bulldogs are relying heavily on their defense and ground game as QB Carson Beck’s production stalled significantly. However, head coach Kirby Smart has sent his quarterback a strong message on his recent performances.

The quality against quantity dilemma has become an ongoing topic in Athens. The Bulldogs have taken down the Texas Longhorns and big rivals in the SEC, yet something seems off. 



The most easily recognized weak link in Georgia right now is <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/carson-beck">Carson Beck</a>. The quarterback is going through a considerable slump. “Just decision-making, I think that’s the bottom line,” Smart said, via UGASports.com. “I think I was more pleased after watching the tape than anything, because, he got 73 snaps. I still think that 68 out of 73 in the decision-making process, he did the right thing. And he made some really, really elite plays and throws within it. So, it’s cutting down on the catastrophic ones.”

On November 1, the SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey sent out a memo on the fake injuries issue that took centerstage in <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-football">college football</a>. Smart was asked on the topic, and his response set the record straight on how it impacts the Bulldogs’ program.

Kirby Smart was visibly frustrated with many elements within his offense. In particular with Nate Frazier’s excessive celebration which resulted in a penalty. As Georgia trailed Florida 6-13 midway through the third quarter, freshman running back Nate Frazier rushed into the end zone for a 2-yard touchdown. After the game, Smart was asked on the heated exchange he had with Frazier on the field and the Dawgs head coach expanded on what he thought of the freshman’s conduct for doing the infamous celly in <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-football">college football</a> against the Gators.



“Just told him, ‘Don’t be stupid, man. We’re not selfish people at Georgia,” Kirby Smart said, via On3. “We don’t, I mean, I’m not interested in all the shenanigans. We’re meat and potatoes. We roll our sleeves up, we go to work every day. I’m not interested in you gator-chomping and throat-slashing. It’s not respectful.“

<h2>Smart on Carson Beck’s struggles</h2>



Georgia’s 2024 <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/ncaa">NCAA</a> season has been hindered repeatedly by the QB’s woes. Although the team remains on top of the SEC and among the favorites to the National Title, Beck’s struggles have been a headache for Smart and the offense. However, Smart is confident on him and has sent him a strong message after another multi-turnovers outing.



“He continues to grow and mature. He’s not perfect,” Smart told media after the game. “I think that he puts a lot of pressure on himself, and we got to to continue to help him. I mean, he did some really good things. There’s things that go unnoticed. 



“What he can’t do is throw the ball late over the middle, and we’ve got to do a better job protecting him. But the two plays that he would want back were late, scramble, throw-it-up plays. And to be honest with you, he hasn’t done that much, you know? He’s always been smart.“



<h2>Beck’s stats </h2>



Through eight games in the season, Carson Beck has had a very irregular performance. The Bulldogs QB is the fifth QB with the most INTs thrown in college football. Beck leads the SEC in that category. So far, Beck has passed for 2,302 yards, 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.



For reference, he only threw six interceptions in the 2023 season. With (at least) four games to go in the season, Beck has almost doubled his INT total. Moreover, the QB is on a big slump as of late: over the last five games, Beck has thrown 10 touchdowns against 11 turnovers.

The <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/georgia-bulldogs">Georgia Bulldogs</a> defeated the Florida Gators 34-20 in the latest edition of the “World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party”. However, it was not pretty by any means for the Dawgs. After the game, head coach Kirby Smart sent Carson Beck, and rest of the offense, a strong message.



The Bulldogs’ offensive woes have held the team back considerably during the team’s last <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-football">college football</a> outings. Though 4-1 for the past five games, the Dawgs have struggled offensively and Carson Beck’s been on the eye of the storm lately. However, Smart has made his support clear and instead demanded the rest of teammates to aid the QB.



After yet another disappointing offensive performance. On a game in which the turnovers shot the team on the foot repeatedly, Georgia’s head coach issued a strong message to Beck and the rest of offensive players.

The Bulldogs signal-caller completed 25 of 40 pass attempts, passing for 309 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. Over the last five games, Beck has thrown 10 touchdowns to 11 interceptions.



<h2>Beck makes honest self-critic</h2>



Although the head coach believes Beck is not mostly to blame for the recent struggles, the QB himself has made it clear he is to be held accountable. After his third three-turnovers game of the year, Beck made a strong self-assessment. 



“I think it really comes down to me at the end of the day,” Beck stated, via On3. “There are things that people around me can do to help. They did it tonight, I mean, go watch the film. I mean, a lot of it comes down to me, honestly. Just in my preparation, which I feel like I prepare well, but there’s just certain situations in games where maybe I try to make a play that doesn’t need to be made.“



<h2>Run game hindered Beck, according to Smart</h2>



During the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/ncaa">NCAA</a>‘s week 10 meeting with the Gators, the Bulldogs lost Trevor Etienne to a rib injury. Georgia’s RB room was already shallow heading into the game and the absence of their rushing leader only made things worse.



“But he also made some really good plays, and we’ve got to do a good job helping him around with the run game,” Smart said. “When we lost Etienne, it made it a lot tougher because we didn’t have as many backs. He relies on Etienne to take some of that pressure off of the run game.”

The Dawgs’ offense has come to a halt in production. Beck’s turnovers have taken a toll in the output and the running-game has had to stand-up. Though the team has been able to win despite the giveaways, Smart and company know the issue must be assessed heading into the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-football">College Football</a> Playoffs.



However, <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/kirby-smart">Smart</a> has shown his full trust on his QB and has sent him a strong message when asked about Carson Beck.



“I don’t answer it, because I don’t think anything’s wrong with him,” Smart said according to On3. “He hasn’t played perfect, but nobody does. So I’m very comfortable with where Carson is and in terms of his leadership, his practice habits, the things we’re asking him to do, I think he’s doing a good job of those.”

So far this season, Beck totals 1,993 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. The most concerning stat lies on the QB’s most recent outings. Over the last four games, Beck has thrown 8 TDs and 8 INTs. Moreover, during the Dawgs biggest games in the SEC (against Alabama and Texas) Beck has had three turnovers in both clashes.

<h2>Kirby Smart sends a message to Trevor Etienne</h2>



Georgia will host Florida up next. As the Gators walk into town, Bulldogs running back Trevor Etienne will come across some familiar faces in Gainesville’s program. The former Gator will face his ex-school in a crucial clash for the Dawgs’ aspirations. Smart cannot afford any distractions and has sent a powerful message to the team’s rushing leader.



“Focus on the task. You don’t want to be caught up in the emotions and be emotional,” Smart said. “I don’t think that helps any. Dom’s gone through it with Missouri a couple times, different players. That’s part of college football now. We’ve had kids go down there. We don’t get caught up in it a bunch. At the end of the day, what’s gonna make you play well? It ain’t worrying about that.”



Etienne transferred from Florida to Georgia and has hit the ground running during his first year in Athens. On Saturday, he will look to stay hot against his former teammates and continue to build on his dominant <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/ncaa">NCAA</a> season.
