Even though Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks just won the NBA Championship a couple of days ago, Damian Lillard seems to be the player everybody’s talking about around the league right now.

Lillard was clearly frustrated after yet another early exit in the playoffs and it’s clear that he’s outgrown his current team, hence becoming one of the biggest trade candidates we’ve seen in years.

Nonetheless, his friend and teammate Enes Kanter just doesn’t think he’ll ever leave the organization, as he’s vowed over and over to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to an NBA Championship.

Enes Kanter Says Damian Lillard Won’t Leave Portland Trail Blazers

“I’ve said this in many interviews: he’s the most loyal player I have ever seen in the league,” Kanter told the media, as quoted by Fadeaway World.“Everytime I go to a basketball camp, kids are always asking if Dame’s going to leave. I don’t think so. I think Dame loves the Blazers and the Portland fans so much. Obviously he wants a championship team, but one thing, he wants to bring a championship to Portland. That’s what people don’t understand. He wants to win a championship like every other player yes. But he wants to do it all in Portland.”

Lillard Says He’s Still Undecided About His Future

Lillard is currently in Tokyo with Team USA and it’s trying to focus just on the Olympics. He recently denied the reports of him wanting to request a trade, albeit he didn’t commit to staying in Portland either:

“I woke up to those reports, a lot of people reaching out to me. But it’s not true. I’ll start off the rip and say it’s not true. A lot of things are being said. It hasn’t come from me. I haven’t made any firm decision on what my future will be,” Lillard said.

We’ll have to wait and see. Trading for Lillard will be as hard as it’ll be tricky, and that’s just not done overnight. For now, it looks like he’ll stay in RIP City but once the Olympics are over, maybe trade talks will ramp up.
