NBA players, as most sports figures, are always in the spotlight, for better or worse. That means that even though there are a huge amount of people rooting for you and showing you support, others are going to be tough on you, and Danny Green isn’t the exception to that rule.

Los Angeles Lakers fans were thrilled when they signed him in the offseason, knowing that he could provide some much-needed shooting, solid backcourt defense, and the kind of Championship pedigree their team needed to get over the hump.

Fast forward a couple of months later and a lot of their fans turned their back on him because of how much he struggled to get going in the offensive end of the floor, especially since the restart of the season.

Some fans filed a petition at Change.org to prevent him from getting a ring if they won the NBA Finals, and went as far as to send death threats to his fianceé in the wake of his missed game-winner on Game 5.

That’s why, rather than cry over the spilled milk, the three-time NBA Champion clapped back at his haters with a savage post on social media right after helping the purple-and-gold win their 17th title.

Danny Green Calls Out His Haters On Social Media

It’s true that Green vastly underperformed in the NBA Finals, at least when it came to knocking down shots. Yeah, he should have hitthat wide-open three to give the Lakers the ring on Friday, we can all agree that.

We can also agree that he brings way more to the table than just shooting. He’s a savvy veteran who often makes the right play, plays hard, and is an outstanding defender. Truth be told, he gave the Lakers more than he took away from them with his subpar shooting. Now, he’s holding the Larry O’Brien trophy one more time.
