Jimmy Butler is one of the biggest competitors you'll ever see in the NBA. Ever since his breakout year with the Chicago Bulls, he's been used to enduring a great physical burden and playing a lot of minutes night in and night out.

That has been the case again in the NBA Finals, as he's currently averaging 45 minutes per game for the shorthanded Miami Heat. Surprisingly, though, and after a long playoff run, he looks as fresh as lettuce even down the stretch.

So, when asked about the secret behind his seemingly never-ending stamina, Jimmy Butler said that he does get tired but coach Erik Spoelstra tells him he's not tired at all, so he changes his mindset.

Jimmy Butler Says He Doesn't Get Tired Because Erik Spoelstra Tells Him He's Not Tired

"I think - I actually think I recover quite fast because all I can hear is Spo over and over again telling me how I'm not tired. That's literally what he tells me in the middle of the game. I'm just like 'all right, coach, I guess you know how I'm feeling, yeah, I'm not tired'. So going into it, it's like, you can't be tired, you can't be banged up. These guys need you. They're counting on you. If they see you, that's how they're going to be," Butler said.

Jimmy is the obvious leader of this young Miami Heat group. They feature promising players like Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Kendrick Nunn, and Bam Adebayo but they'll only go as far as he can take them.

He already led the team to a huge upset win in Game 3 with a 40-point triple-double but he'll need the rest of his teammates to step up if they want to have a shot at the ring. So hey, the next time you feel tired, just think of coach Spo.
