The Los Angeles Lakers have one of the strongest, biggestfan bases in the whole world. Obviously, they’re used to watching nothing but the greatest talents in NBA history wearing the purple-and-gold, so they can be a bit spoiled from time to time.
That’s why they haven’t hesitated to unleash their wrath over Danny Green, who’s been far from the sharpshooter he once was with the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors during his stint at Hollywood.
Green’s shot has been way off since the restart of the season and it seems like Lakers fans just can’t take it anymore, especially after he went 0/6 from the field (0/4 from beyond the arc) for just 2 points in their Game 3 loss to the Miami Heat.
Lakers Fans Start Petition To Prevent Danny Green From Getting A Ring
The fans’ hate rose to the point where one of them even filed a Change.org petition to prevent Danny Green from getting a ring in case they beat the Miami Heat and win the 2020 NBA Finals, as crazy as it may seem.
Green has been quite good for the Lakers in terms of getting stops and providing his usual solid defense, especially in the fast-break. But, when it comes to shooting, he’s been terrible with just 5/23 (21.3%) shooting throughout the Finals.
To make things even more hilarious and incredible, that’s actually not the first time that Lakers fans do these kinds of things, as someone recently filed a petition to stop Kyle Kuzma from getting a ring as well.
Obviously, when you’ve watched stars of the likes of George Mikan, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Magic Johnson, James Worthy, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kobe Bryant play for your team, you’re going to demand nothing but greatness. But c’mon guys, this has gone too far already.
