Steve Nash backs Pacers' Malcolm Brogdon as an All-Star this year

Usually, small market players don’t get the nod for the All-Star Game, at least not as starters. It’s not usual to see a player who’s not a bonafide superstar getting praise from the fans, especially if he’s not exactly flashy. That could be the case with Malcolm Brogdon this season. The combo guard is having a breakout year for the Indiana Pacers and making a huge impact on both ends of the floor, yet he could be snubbed from making the cut due to fan voting, which is yet another reason why players aren’t fond of that format.

Nonetheless, given the way he’s played as of late, it seems like ‘Humble Moses’ will still make the All-Star team, as he’s been turning a lot of heads among the league’s coaches, including Hall of Famer Steve Nash.

Apparently, the two-time NBA MVP has been quite impressed with Brogdon’s game this season, as he made it a focal point of his gameplan when the Brooklyn Nets visited the Indiana Pacers last night.

“They have an All-Star point guard in Malcolm Brogdon,” Nash said after the game, backing the former Rookie of the Year award winner to get a much-deserved nod after such an impressive campaign.

Thus far, Brogdon is averaging a career-high 21.4 points to go along with 4.0 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 1.3 steals, and 2.6 three-pointers per game on 44.2/38.6/89.3 shooting splits and 35.7 minutes per game.

The Milwaukee Bucks must be regretting their decision to let him walk. He’s proven to be one of the biggest bargains around the league right now thanks to his ability to play and guard multiple spots and play on and off the ball. Hopefully, he’ll get the credit he deserves and will be an All-Star this season.
