The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are rolling right now. They made the playoffs for the first time in years and have now won back-to-back games on the road, making it to the NFC Championship Game.
The team is pretty stacked at every position and has been pretty well-coached for most of the year. However, a lot of the credit for their impressive run must go to Hall of Famer quarterback Tom Brady.
Brady signed a 2-year deal with the Buccaneers in the offseason following two decades with the New England Patriots, and even though there were some growing pains early on, it seems like he’s now in full control of the offense and peaking at the right time.
Bruce Arians Says He Lets Tom Brady Coach, Unlike Bill Belichick
So, when asked about what was the turning point with Tom Brady this season and why he’s been so efficient lately, head coach Bruce Arians took a light jab at Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots, claiming that they didn’t allow him to call his own plays:
“New England didn’t allow him to coach. I allow him to coach. I just sit back sometimes and watch,” Arians said.
In all fairness, Arians has given Brady a lot of freedom since the second half of the season. He’s making adjustments at the line, calling his plays, and it’s clearly shown in his performances.
Also, the rumor around the NFL is that Belichick’s treatment of Brady was the main reason why Tom decided to pack his bags and leave in the offseason, so there may be some truth to what Arians told the media.
Now, the Buccaneers will play the most important game since forever with Tom Brady under center when they travel to Lambeau Field to try and beat Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers again.
