Aaron Rodgers might not sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers. That is the sentiment expressed by Mike Tirico during an interview with Kay Adams, in which the famous broadcaster was asked whether the quarterback is close to retirement.

“I thought his comments about personal life and those other things kind of encroaching on the space of full dedication to football were an indication that it might be the end. In my soul, I want to see Aaron Rodgers in Pittsburgh. I would love to see that marriage of you don’t need to score 30 with the Steelers, you can score 22 or 19. Just get us down in position for a game winning field goal. I still think he can do that often enough that I’d love to see that marriage happen. But, as we get down to May, my confidence of that happening has diminished significantly.”

A few weeks ago, the former Super Bowl champion with the Packers said he couldn’t accept an offer from any team at the moment due to personal issues within his inner circle. However, the Steelers are willing to wait.

Is Aaron Rodgers retiring?

Aaron Rodgers has not confirmed whether he will retire from football, but the reality is that his only option at the moment is to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers, as no other team currently has a vacancy for a starting quarterback.

Although there has been speculation that Rodgers is waiting for a last-minute call from the Vikings if J.J. McCarthy isn’t ready, that scenario has been ruled out by both the player and Minnesota. Therefore, it seems it’s either Pittsburgh or retirement.
