Aaron Rodgers is said to have given certain assurances to the Pittsburgh Steelers that they will be his next team, despite not having signed with them yet. As happened a few days ago, Jeremy Fowler reiterated in his latest report the term ‘loose assurance’ that has been heard around the NFL.
“They believe that the Pittsburgh Steelers have gotten some sort of at least fairly loose assurance. A lot of people I’ve talked to feel like they have some loose parameters there in that regard. What that looks like, how it happened or whether it definitively happened is still unclear. But it does sort of feel that way.”
Rodgers is very close to retirement, but before that, he wants to compete for one last Super Bowl in his legendary career. The Steelers are his only option at the moment, although several reports indicate that the quarterback might wait for the Vikings.
Is Aaron Rodgers a free agent now?
Yes. Aaron Rodgers is a free agent, and a few days ago, Fowler had already hinted at this theory about the supposed promise made by the quarterback to the Pittsburgh Steelers to prevent them from worrying about the delay.
“The Pittsburgh Steelers remain optimistic and they are willing to wait. In fact, I’ve talked to several people in the quarterback market, including in and around Russell Wilson’s free agency, who just figure that the Steelers must have gotten some sort of loose assurance on Rodgers at some point that he’s going to play there.”
