NFL News: Aaron Rodgers reportedly has not reached an agreement with Steelers

Despite growing speculation, Aaron Rodgers has not committed to the Pittsburgh Steelers. With retirement still on the table and personal matters weighing in, the veteran quarterback’s future remains up in the air, leaving Pittsburgh in a tense wait.

Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers have no guarantees that Aaron Rodgers will sign with them. According to a report by Peter Schrager, the rumors suggesting that the quarterback gave assurances to the team are far from reality.

“I don’t think there’s this assumed handshake deal that: ‘Hey, don’t worry, I’ll get there.’ They would have announced it. They would have signed him. They would have done it. I still think he’s deliberating. From what I gather, Pittsburgh knows no more now than they did at the Draft or before the Draft.”

Despite the uncertainty, the Steelers are willing to wait for Rodgers because they believe the veteran gives them the best chance to win the Super Bowl, even after losing George Pickens in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys.

Is Aaron Rodgers retiring?

The possibility of Aaron Rodgers retiring gains traction considering the star publicly said he’s dealing with personal issues within his inner circle and is not convinced about signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

With no other option in the NFL, Rodgers might choose not to wear himself down at 41 and instead focus on his future, where, notably, he has also admitted to being in a new ‘serious relationship’, which could be a key factor in deciding whether or not he continues playing football.
