Ben Roethlisberger joked about the possibility of coming out of retirement to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers while the team decides if their future quarterback is Aaron Rodgers. The legend couldn’t hide his excitement about an offense that includes DK Metcalf and George Pickens.
“Coach Tomlin, are you kidding me? DK Metcalf on one side. George Pickens on the other. Pat Freiermuth working the middle. I might need to throw my hat in the ring. If you’re looking for a guy, I might still have a couple of throws in me.”
The Steelers need a star quarterback to become Super Bowl contenders, but at the moment, there is still no response from Rodgers, who is also reportedly interested in the New York Giants and the Minnesota Vikings.
Is Ben Roethlisberger coming our of retirement?
No. Ben Roethlisberger sent that message as a joke and has no intention of coming out of retirement. However, in another interview with The Pat McAfee Show, Big Ben admitted that that wide receiver duo is very appealing for any quarterback.
“You see the blue skies? That’s because we got a crazy offense. In Pittsburgh, we don’t see these blues skies too often, but when we get wins and new signings like these in the free agent market, it’s a special day in Pittsburgh. Guys have been talking about the Steelers needing a number two receiver. Well, now they’ve got two ones.”
