Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers could have one last ace up their sleeve to convince Aaron Rodgers. According to a report by Adam Crowley, the team is exploring the possibility of a trade with the Saints for Chris Olave.

It all started when Crowley posted a message on X that only included the name of the star wide receiver. When the topic started trending on social media, he tried to tone down the excitement among fans by being cautious. “To be clear. I had someone who would be in the know text me ‘Chris Olave.'”

After George Pickens’ departure to the Cowboys, Olave would be an outstanding No. 2 wide receiver alongside DK Metcalf. If Rodgers signs with Pittsburgh, that could position the Steelers as Super Bowl contenders.

Will Chris Olave play in 2025?

Chris Olave is expected to play in 2025 after suffering multiple concussions last season. However, that factor will be key in determining his future with the Saints or with any team interested in a blockbuster trade.

Following Crowley’s report, Nick Farabaugh stated that although the Steelers’ interest in Olave is real, the situation appears to be complicated. Everything will depend on the Saints, who have their own issues following Derek Carr’s retirement.

“Chris Olave to the Pittsburgh Steelers trade rumors have circulated on Friday morning, but it doesn’t seem likely to happen. Sources tell that the Steelers have called the Saints to check on Olave’s availability. The Steelers are interested in the 24-year-old, but sources describe that call as a due diligence call. In addition, sources tell that New Orleans does not seem interested in trading Olave. Nothing is close to a trade or imminent.”
