Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers have been the biggest story of the NFL offseason due to their pursuit of Aaron Rodgers. Even though the start of training camp is near, the team has decided to bet on patience.
A few weeks ago, during an interview with Pat McAfee, Rodgers admitted that issues with his inner circle are preventing him from signing. He even advised any franchise to move on if they weren’t willing to wait for him. The Giants took him at his word.
However, the Steelers decided to wait. Despite pressure from fans and experts, Tomlin and Omar Khan believe that Rodgers gives them a real chance to be Super Bowl contenders, so despite all the criticism, they’re not willing to give up.
Did Aaron Rodgers sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers?
Aaron Rodgers has not signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but according to a report from Mark Kaboly, that long-awaited moment could occur soon. The insider doesn’t expect it to happen during OTAs at the end of May, but does believe it could take place during mandatory minicamp starting on June 10.
Kaboly received a very interesting question about the Rodgers situation and offered a huge update on the matter: “If OTAs begin Tuesday without Rodgers, is that a sign that he’s less likely to be a Steeler?”
The insider’s response was clear with the key date included: “Absolutely not. It would be a surprise to me if he showed up to OTAs. I do think we will see him at minicamp on June 10.”
