Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers now know their full schedule for the 2025 season as they continue to wait for Aaron Rodgers. Team owner Art Rooney II was satisfied with the distribution of games, although there was one detail he didn’t like.
“It felt all right. I think the only complaint I have is a night game on the West Coast. It’s always something that I prefer to avoid and we got one of those this year. So, these things happen.”
The game Rooney is referring to is the road matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football in Week 10. In addition, as has been the case in recent years, the final stretch of the schedule will show whether the Steelers are truly Super Bowl contenders, as they face tough opponents like the Bills, Dolphins, Lions, and Ravens.
When will the Steelers play in Ireland?
The Steelers will play in Ireland on Sunday, September 28, against the Minnesota Vikings. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:30 AM (ET) at Croke Park in Dublin. For Rooney, one positive aspect of the schedule is that the long trips are spread out and the bye week comes right after that game in Europe.
“Well, of course the Dublin game is kind of the headline in terms of the schedule itself. It is better that they’re spread out. The night games are spread out. So, I think from that point of view, it works okay. I’ve always preferred the bye week a little later in the season, but, you know, following that trip, it probably isn’t a bad idea to have it then.”
