The potential arrival of Aaron Rodgers to the Pittsburgh Steelers remains one of the most talked-about topics in the NFL. Although his signing has yet to be finalized, several signs suggest the veteran quarterback could join Mike Tomlin’s team before the start of the 2025 season.

However, despite what appears to be an imminent move, Rodgers’ decision continues to be delayed. In the meantime, the Steelers have shown a willingness to wait until the regular season kicks off on September 7. At this point, he seems to be the only real option to take over as the starting quarterback.

While waiting on Rodgers, the black and gold continue to make moves to strengthen the depth of their roster. In recent hours, the Steelers have confirmed the addition of a potential key weapon for the quarterback room — one that could include Rodgers.

Who is the Steelers’ new addition?

The newest addition to the Steelers is none other than wide receiver Montana Lemonious-Craig, who has joined the 90-man roster. The black and gold franchise announced the signing without making any corresponding roster moves.

Lemonious-Craig went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft after finishing his college career at the University of Arizona, where he played the last two seasons following a transfer from the University of Colorado, where he spent three years.

As a prospect, Lemonious-Craig recorded 45 receptions for 468 yards and four touchdowns at Arizona, while tallying 34 catches for 497 yards and five touchdowns during his time at Colorado. His addition to Pittsburgh helps add depth to a position that took a hit following the departure of George Pickens.
