Aaron Rodgers has landed in the AFC North to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025. In that division, he’ll meet a familiar facetwo-time Super Bowl champion Kyle Van Noy, who has issued a strong warning ahead of their upcoming matchups.

The AFC North will feature a high-profile newcomer for the 2025 NFL season. Aaron Rodgers has decided to join the Steelers, as Pittsburgh hopes to make one final run at a Super Bowl before the veteran quarterback retires.

Rodgers enters one of the league’s toughest divisions, and the response has been immediate. Several players have already reacted to the Super Bowl XLV champion’s arrival, with a new, direct message coming from a star who’s eager to take him down.

Kyle Van Noy issues blunt warning to Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers is the biggest name entering the AFC North in 2025. He joins a talented Steelers roster, and expectations are sky-high—anything short of a Super Bowl could be viewed as a failure.

Rodgers confirmed on Tuesday that this will be his final NFL season, reinforcing the “Super Bowl or bust” mentality in Pittsburgh. But the rest of the division isn’t planning to make things easy.

Recently, Myles Garrett said he wants to sack Rodgers for the first time in his career. Now, Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy has joined that mission—and he’s made it personal.

Van Noy, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Patriots, joined Baltimore in 2023 and has had a strong career. However, there’s one thing he’s yet to achieve: sacking Aaron Rodgers.

Kyle Van Noy #53 of the Baltimore Ravens addresses the media during training camp at Under Armour Performance Center Baltimore Ravens on August 12, 2024 in Owings Mills, Maryland.

Van Noy began his career with the Detroit Lions when Rodgers was still with the Packers. He’s had a few opportunities to bring him down but never succeeded. Now reunited in the AFC North, the Ravens defender is determined to finally check that box.

“For whatever reason, the D-coordinator, who’s actually the D-coordinator of the Steelers, wanted to go Cover-0 all game against Aaron Rodgers,” Kyle Van Noy said. “He caught us. We’re like, ‘Oh, we gotta run it.’ Ended up scoring a touchdown to Jordy Nelson. He ended up walking by and kind of tapped me on my butt, like, ‘Nice try.’ So I gotta get him back for that. That’s been there for 10 years.”

How many times has Aaron Rodgers been sacked?

Van Noy’s goal might be more attainable than it seems. Unfortunately for Rodgers, his sack numbers don’t offer much protection.

Heading into the 2025 season, Aaron Rodgers leads all active quarterbacks in career sacks taken, with a total of 571. The only active QB close to that number is Russell Wilson, who sits at 560 and could surpass him this year.
