Argentine prodigy Julián Álvarez wanted by major clubs in Europe
The 21-year-old River Plate striker has seen his stock rise considerably with his league performances and Argentine national team call-ups. Now 3 major European clubs are chasing who many consider the best player in South America at the moment.
For Julián Álvarez there is no ceiling, since making his professional debut for Argentine power River Plate in 2018, Álvarez has been a name to watch out for in South America. In 48 league appearances he has scored 15 goals for Marcelo Gallardo’s side.
It’s just not the numbers it’s how the young forward plays the game, Álvarez has very good hold-up play and has a powerful finishing touch and speed. Many have drawn comparisons with Uruguayan Luis Suárez for the style of soccer they play.
River Plate knows they won’t be able to hold on to Álvarez for much longer and according to The Sun, there are major suitors for the young Argentine who has already turned down a big-time money move to MLS. Here are the clubs interested in paying the release clause of $25 million for Julián Álvarez.
Real Madrid
Real Madrid is said to be monitoring the young Argentine closely and see him as a longer-term project. Already on the Argentine national team, Julián Álvarez checks a lot of boxes for Real.
AC Milan
AC Milan would be a very interesting home for Julián Álvarez, he’d be more of a starter to start off his time in Serie A and would eventually become the go to forward after the eventual departure of Zlatan Ibrahimović.
Aston Villa
Down the line is Aston Villa who is building a formattable squad and is also willing to pay the release clause. Álvarez already said no to one English speaking country but the MLS is not the Premier League and while not a big club, Villa is building towards something great.
