Bayern did it again. The German giants clinched a new European trophy on Thursday after beating Sevilla 2-1 at the Puskas Arena in the UEFA Super Cup 2020. Javi Martínez was the hero as he scored the winning goals in extra time to give Bayern a new title.
The game started with Sevilla looking for an early goal, and they got it. Lucas Ocampos took a penalty kick in the 13th minute to put the Spanish team ahead. However, Leon Goretzka equalized for Bayern after a great assist by Robert Lewandowski.
The German team had two goals disallowed in the second half (offside), but finally managed to score the winning goal in the first extra time. Experienced defender Javi Martínez, who had come in fromthe bench, netted with a header to give Bayern the victory and the UEFA Super Cup 2020 trophy.
