Baena took a chance from long distance, but Lunin was well positioned to make a save. That was all she wrote for "Los Colchoneros".

Sorloth couldn't get any power on a header effort. Lunin dived for an easy save on what was a promising chance for the visitors.

A good effort from Alvarez is stopped by Huijsen who clears it towards the corner.

A great effort by the goalkeeper keeps Atletico alive after Alexander-Arnold tried to catch him by surprise in a free kick from the left side of the pitch.

Alvarez shot a beautiful curler from outside the box. He had Lunin defeated for the top right corner, but the post had other plans. Atletico came really close to tying the game.

After a rough challenge near the midfield on Alex Baena, Valverde has been ejected from the game. Real Madrid will finish the night with 10 players.

Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga enter the game, replacing Arda Guler and Brahim Diaz.

Vinicius found the back of the net with a beautiful shot as he made a cut inside and defeated Musso, who dived but couldn't keep the ball out.

Nahuel Molina, in one of his first appearances in the game, unleashed a rocket from outside the box that found the right top corner of Lunin's goal. The game is now tied at 2-2. Molina, the improbable scorer, is rescuing Atleti.

The Argentinian unleashed his first shot of the night but his attempt was too centered and easily contained by Lunin, who didn't give up a rebound.

Immediately after Real's quick comeback, Diego Simeone made changes. Lookman, Griezmann, and Cardoso leave the pitch as Nicolas Gonzalez, Alexander Sorloth, and Nahuel Molina enter the game.

Horrible mistakes from Ruggeri and Gimenez leave Valverde all by himself against Musso. Valverde stays red-hot and beats the goalkeeper with a nice shot with the outside of his right foot.

Vinicius makes no mistake. His shot went to Musso's right side, as the goalkeeper dived the opposite way. The game is now tied at one apiece.

Brahim Diaz was taken down by Hancko, and Munuera wasted no time signallig the penalty spot. Real Madrid can now tie the game.

Moreover, Real Madrid is looking weak on defense, and Atleti made them pay.

Musso gave up a bad rebound after a low shot from Guler and it was Hancko who cleared the ball before Valverde could cash in on the loose change. In the next play, Hancko headed the ball out of danger inside the goal area, when Real Madrid could almost taste the equalizer.

Atletico survive the final minutes of the first half. They will take a 1-0 lead into the second half.

The French star couldn't quite connect with a header as his shot went just wide of the net. Musso had slipped, which opened up a good chunk of his left side. Regardless, Atletico managed to survive.

The Brazilian engaged in a one-on-one matchup with Llorente near the edge of the penalty box, but the right back had no trouble taking the ball away and clearing any danger for his team. Atletico looks like a different team after Lookman's goal. They have now settled in.

Atletico's left back has been shown a yellow card for a dangerous challenge on Valverde. Him and Cardoso are the only players with cards so far in the game.

If Real Madrid aren't careful, Atletico Madrid can punish them through their fast and dynamic counter-offensive maneuvers.

Once again on the counterattack, Lookman waits for Ruggeri, who crosses a nice ball into the box. Simeone, assists Lookman with a cheeky backheel, and the Nigerian international makes no mistake beating Lunin.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Munuera has officiated 16 games for Real Madrid. "Los Merengues" have a 14-1-1 (W-D-L) record, including a 2-1 derby victory over Atleti in the 2022-23 season. As for Atletico, they are 13-3-5  when Munuera referees.
