Aryna Sabalenka is moving on to the Miami Open quarterfinals, but the post-match buzz wasn’t just about her dominant play on the court. Following her latest victory, the World No. 2 was asked for her take on Coco Gauff’s recent admission that she used tactical advice from a fan’s tweet to help clinch her own quarterfinal berth.

When asked if she combs through social media for similar “scouting reports,” Sabalenka was candid about the double-edged sword of online feedback.

“Of course I see some of the things… but for some reason, I see more negative than positive about myself,” Sabalenka admitted.

However, the reigning Australian Open champion didn’t miss a beat when it came to the strategic implications of Gauff‘s “crowdsourced” tactics. If the two stars meet in a hypothetical final, Sabalenka knows exactly what to look for.

“Well, if it helped her, it helped. We’re all different, right?” Sabalenka said with a grin. “Thanks for telling me… now I’m going to be ready for her coming to the net.”

A Sabalenka-Gauff finale?

The rivalry between Sabalenka and Gauff has quickly become one of the most compelling narratives on the WTA Tour. Sabalenka has previously dubbed the young American her toughest opponent, and fans are already eyeing a potential heavyweight title bout in Miami.

The path to that final, however, remains grueling:

  • The Quarterfinals: Sabalenka is set to face Hailey Baptiste on Wednesday.
  • The Semifinals: Awaiting the winner of that match is a looming showdown with powerhouse Elena Rybakina.
  • The Final: On the other side of the bracket, Coco Gauff must navigate her own path past Karolina Muchova to set the stage for a blockbuster rematch against the Belarusian.

If the seeds hold, Miami is on track for a dream final between two of the hardest hitters in the game.
