Pacquiao’s advice

When first asked for his thoughts on the Canelo vs. Crawford matchup during a conversation with FightHype on May 18, Pacquiao responded briefly: “Good for Canelo.” However, when the topic shifted to whether he had any advice for Crawford as he moves up in weight, the boxing legend offered a more pointed response: “My advice to him is to focus on speed. The speed and style.”

While the size difference between the two fighters is expected to play a role, many believe Crawford’s best chance lies in avoiding toe-to-toe exchanges and instead leaning into the attributes that have defined his career—namely, his speed and movement. If Crawford can maintain his rhythm and dictate the pace, his goal of becoming champion at 168 pounds may be within reach.
