Most NBA prospects have known one another since they were kids. They grow up playing in the same circuits, and some of them are even teammates in AAU teams or Team USA’s youth squads.

However, going to college can be a life-changing experience for plenty of them. They get to work on their games under the guidance of some coaches with a long history of success in turning young men into pros.

That’s why, if you were to ask Devin Booker, you shouldn’t even hesitate. If the University of Kentucky happens to have an interest in you, you just have to accept and commit to them.

Devin Booker was asked by a recruit, his father, ‘What about Kentucky?’” former Wildcats coach John Calipari recalled in an interview with On3. “He looked at him and said, ‘Do you want to change your life? Well then go to Kentucky. Change your life. How could that make anybody nasty or mad? I don’t know.”
