Bill Belichick is set to begin a new chapter in his coaching career—this time in the NCAAF, taking the reins of the North Carolina Tar Heels. With a clear objective of becoming a contender for the National Championship Game, the team has confirmed the arrival in Chapel Hill of a former Tennessee Volunteers teammate of Nico Iamaleava, who joins from Purdue.
Nathan Leacock, who was one of Iamaleava’s key weapons during their time with the Vols, joins UNC from the Boilermakers, strengthening a crucial department for Bill Belichick’s team.
The news was confirmed by college football insider Pete Nakos, who announced the significant move for North Carolina ahead of the upcoming season through his official account on X (formerly Twitter).
“BREAKING: Purdue transfer WR Nathan Leacock has committed to North Carolina, @PeteNakos_ reports. As a redshirt sophomore, the talented wide receiver will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Leacock arrives in Chapel Hill via the Transfer Portal, the same route he previously used to make the move from Tennessee to Purdue. During his time with the Vols, he formed a strong duo with Iamaleava, so his addition is expected to be productive at North Carolina.

So far, 26 players have arrived at UNC, with more possibly joining during preparations for the new season. Leacock, a standout wide receiver, is the fourth to join the team at that position.
Prior to the arrival of the former Purdue player, Jason Robinson from Washington, Dayton Sneed from the Tennessee Volunteers, and finally Adrian Wilson from Colorado had joined the team.
