Continuing the string of bad news for the New York Yankees regarding Giancarlo Stanton's health, this time it was Aaron Boone himself who had to confirm that the designated hitter is facing another different injury.

The New York Yankees continue to receive bad news regarding the health of some players, and Aaron Boone has had to deliver some of that bad news. Now, he had to reveal that Giancarlo Stanton is dealing with another type of injury in addition to the elbow issues that everyone already knows about.

According to Aaron Boone‘s statements, Stanton is currently dealing with a calf injury that the Yankees’ manager labeled as ‘fairly minor’. It is worth noting that he has not yet recovered from the tennis elbow he is suffering from and has received three PRP injections so far to try to avoid surgery.

Despite Stanton potentially suffering a new injury, it is important to remember that there is still no clear date for when he could be fully back to start hitting the ball with the Yankees. It seems like his road to recovery will be much longer than anticipated.

A week ago, Aaron Boone was discussing the options for temporarily replacing Giancarlo Stanton in the DH position. He had already tried Judge, but it appears that Judge is more valuable in the right field.

How would the Yankees be impacted if Stanton is unable to return?

If Stanton requires surgery on his elbows, that would likely mark the end of his season in 2025. The Yankees would lose a highly effective DH who contributed significantly to the team in 2024 with 459 plate appearances, 49 runs, 97 hits, and 27 home runs.

Stanton has had his fair share of injury-related absences in the past. In 2023, he missed 43 games due to a left hamstring strain, but despite that setback, he returned to contribute 24 home runs in 415 plate appearances.
