NBA Finals: Twitter destroys LeBron James, Danny Green over mised game-winner

Los Angeles Lakers fans were ruthless with LeBron James and Danny Green after the missed game-winner in Game 5 of the NBA Finals vs the Miami Heat.

The Los Angeles Lakers wasted a huge opportunity to clinch their league-leading 17th NBA Championship last night vs. the Miami Heat, as LeBron James drove to the rim, drew a triple-team, and send a pass to a wide-open Danny Green with 11 seconds left in the clock. His shot, as you may know by now, was yet another brick.

The Miami Heat held on and forced Game 6 behind a historically great performance by Jimmy Butler, who only got 48 seconds of rest and put up 35 points (on 11/19 shooting), 12 rebounds, 11 assists, 5 steals, 1 three-pointer, and 1 block.

Now, LeBron and the Lakers will have yet another shot at the Championship when they face for the sixth game of the series on Sunday night. However, it seems like they just let it slip right through their fingers.

And, unsurprisingly, the narrative around the web was whether LeBron should have taken that shot instead of trusting his wide-open teammate, while others simply wasted no time in completely bashing Green for another subpar offensive performance. Here, we’ll show you some of the best memes and reactions.

It’s been a rough season for Danny Green, at least offensively. He’s known for being a solid 3-and-D player but that “3” part has been missing all year long, especially since the restart of the season.

LeBron James made the right play. It was basketball 101, and no one would have questioned his read if Green had made the shot. Yes, other stars would have taken the shot themselves, but that doesn’t mean that LeBron was wrong.

Also, we have to give credit where its dueand the Miami Heat fought with bones and nails to get this win. Jimmy Butler is one of the biggest competitors in NBA history and, honestly, we should just be grateful for having at least one more game before the league stops until God knows when.
