The Golden State Warriors ended their losing streak in the NBA. They defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 111–95. Stephen Curry led the charge with a standout performance. He scored 23 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and dished out 6 assists. This made him statistically the best player of the game. After the game, Curry spoke about the injury that kept him out of two straight games.

Curry recalled the injury suffered in 2021 against the Houston Rockets. There he fell on a metal step in the bench area during a game. However, he says he does not have a similar injury: Thankfully, I didn’t break anything or have any bone damage. It is mostly just a deep, serious contusion that I’ll feel it for a while, but I can play, and I can’t make it worse as long as I don’t land on it again.

Besides, Stephen Curry also denied having back problems. He said the only thing he needs to avoid is falling again. Preventing another injury is crucial for the team. The playoffs are less than 10 games away and the Warriors still have time to secure a spot. To do that, they need Curry on the court. His absence throws the entire team off balance having lost two consecutive games without him.

With Stephen Curry leading the way, the Warriors have one short-term goal. They want to avoid the NBA Play-In at all costs. Nine games remain on the schedule. The team is aiming to take the sixth spot in the Western Conference from the Los Angeles Clippers. Both teams are closely matched. Any mistake could shift the balance.

To pursue this goal, keeping the core healthy is essential. Injuries to Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler have already taken a toll. The Warriors cannot afford more setbacks if they hope to make a deep playoff run.
