Shedeur Sanders finally knows his NFL destination for next season â and itâs none other than the Cleveland Browns. After days of growing uncertainty surrounding his future, the QB is now set to join forces with star cornerback Denzel Ward in Cleveland.
Following the news, it was the four-time Pro Bowler himself who shared his thoughts, posting a seven-word message on his official X account (formerly Twitter) @denzelward.
â@ShedeurSanders Time to Be Legendary! Letâs do it!,â the talented defensive star posted, accompanied by a fire emoji. Without a doubt, this is one of the most talked-about moves in this yearâs Draft.
After a trade with Seattle, the Browns secured the 144th overall pick and, in the fifth round, finally chose to hold onto it, selecting the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback. Sanders now joins a QB room that includes Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and Dillon Gabriel.

The teams that passed on Shedeur Sanders
There was plenty of speculation about which team would pick Shedeur Sanders in this yearâs draft, and even where he might land. While many predicted he would go early in the first round, the quarterback ultimately fell all the way to the 144th pick.

One of the most notable cases involves the Pittsburgh Steelers, coached by Mike Tomlin, who continue to work through their ongoing saga surrounding the potential arrival of Aaron Rodgers. Despite the widespread expectation that they might add another QB, the Steelers opted to go in a different direction, passing on Sanders in favor of addressing other roster needs.
Another team that was heavily linked to the former Colorado QB was the Las Vegas Raiders, who instead decided to place their trust in the veteran Geno Smith. Under the leadership of head coach Pete Carroll, the Raiders chose to go with Ashton Jeanty in the first round, passing up on Sanders, as did several other teams.
