The Arizona Cardinals are trying to leave the NFL limbo. With that, they need a better version of their quarterback Kyler Murray, and one of the team's captains have spoken about it.

Kyler Murray first stepped into the NFL as a prospect with huge potential. Between being undersized, some contract clauses and injuries, he hasn’t been able to unleash his full potential. However, this 2025 might be a turning point according to one of the Arizona Cardinals captains.

Veteran safety Budda Baker is excited about his quarterback. Speaking to ESPN’s Mina Kimes, Baker said about Murray, He’s kind of been in his bag this whole offseason, doing no-look throws and having a great offseason training camp,” Baker added. “K1, he’s going to run a little bit more. A little outside the pocket, inside the pocket throws. He’s going to kind of do it all and he’s going to get all his guys the rock.”

Murray has been vocal on improving the off-script plays, so the offense should look much more explosive and dynamic once the season rolls around. It seems like everyone in the team is trusting and rooting for K1 to succeed.

Budda Baker must make sure the Cardinals defense matches the offense

If the offense is going to take a leap, that means Baker needs to guide the defense into a better form too. Arizona’s total defense ranked 21st in the NFL last season.

The biggest issue with the Cardinals is that don’t excel at anything. Their offense is not dreadful but isn’t elite either, and that same thing happens with their defense. It’s a middle-of-the-pack unit.
