Mike Tomlin’s Steelers receive suggestion on who they should sign as No.2 wide receiver to help Aaron Rodgers

With the 2025 season approaching and Aaron Rodgers leading the charge, the Steelers may still be missing a key piece on offense. There's a move that could give Pittsburgh the reliable No. 2 wide receiver they desperately need to contend in the AFC North.

Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers might need a No. 2 wide receiver before the start of the 2025 season. According to Mike Florio, there is a name on the market that could have a big impact with Aaron Rodgers. It’s Keenan Allen.

“The Steelers make sense. They still need help at wide receiver. I know they’ve got Robert Woods and there’s talk that Calvin Austin III can be the No.2 wide receiver across from DK Metcalf. I feel like they still need somebody else. They’re taking a hell of a risk. I thought maybe they would consider trading for Allen Lazard. There’s a chance Lazard doesn’t want to go there. Keenan Allen is available. Other wide receivers are out there. The Steelers need to consider someone like Keenan Allen and maybe they will.”

After George Pickens’ departure to the Dallas Cowboys, the wide receiver position took a major hit, and the current depth chart doesn’t seem strong enough to compete with the Ravens and Bengals in the AFC North.

Who is the Steelers number 1 WR?

DK Metcalf is the No. 1 wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Behind him on the depth chart are Calvin Austin III, Roman Wilson, and the team’s recent free agency addition, Robert Woods.

However, at least for now, none of those last three names looks like a true No. 2 star wide receiver. That’s why Florio points out that Keenan Allen could be key to boosting the Steelers’ chances.
