NFL News: Aaron Rodgers could determine the next wide receiver signed by the Steelers, with two big options on the radar

Aaron Rodgers hasn't signed with the Steelers yet, but his potential arrival is already shaping roster decisions. With Pittsburgh in need of a reliable No. 2 wideout, Rodgers' influence could push the team toward one of two standout options, setting the stage for a major move at receiver.

Aaron Rodgers will determine when the Pittsburgh Steelers go looking for a wide receiver, according to a report by Ray Fittipaldo. Additionally, the insider put two options on the table for the team: Keenan Allen and Gabe Davis.

ā€œI think they eventually will sign another wide receiver, but I think they want to wait and see what Aaron Rodgers does. Is Keenan Allen a good fit for him and this offense? I honestly don’t know the answer to that question, but Rodgers wants his wide receivers to be very detailed. Maybe Allen would be a good fit or maybe Gabe Davis. I don’t think that move happens until the Steelers know what’s going on with Rodgers.ā€

It’s important to remember that the Steelers let go of George Pickens in a surprising trade with the Dallas Cowboys, so they need an impactful No. 2 wide receiver in case Rodgers decides to sign with the team.

What wide receiver are the Steelers looking at?

Keenan Allen and Gabe Davis are the best available options the Steelers could be looking at. Although Chris Olave is another possibility and they’ve already asked about him, the Saints are not interested in trading him.

At the moment, the Steelers’ depth chart at the position includes DK Metcalf, Calvin Austin III, Robert Woods, and Roman Wilson. Although there are promising reports about the development of Austin and Wilson, Rodgers could ask for a more experienced player.
