Aaron Rodgers could be in real trouble if the Pittsburgh Steelers select a quarterback in one of the early rounds of the draft. While the quarterback continues to wait before making his decision, the team might be getting tired of the uncertainty.
According to a report from Judy Battista, the draft could send a sign that Mike Tomlin is ready to move on. āThat certainly left the door open to the possibility that, if they get a quarterback in the draft, perhaps they cool on Aaron Rodgers.ā
In recent weeks, several names have come up for the Steelers, like Shedeur Sanders, Jaxson Dart, or Jalen Milroe. Although Rodgers is the one chosen to compete for the Super Bowl in 2025, Pittsburgh doesnāt want to be tied to him for the long term.
Who will be Steelers starting QB?
Mason Rudolph would be the starting quarterback for the Steelers if Aaron Rodgers doesnāt agree to sign a contract with Pittsburgh. Mike Tomlin has said multiple times that this path doesnāt scare him at all.
Whatās interesting is that, in addition to Battistaās report, Tomlin has already warned that the draft could impact Rodgersā future. āI think what you do in the draft often times affects maybe some, you know, talent acquisition that happens after. Weāll see how the acquisition goes this weekend.ā
