Aaron Rodgers would be a great signing for Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers, but according to a report by Jordan Schultz, Shedeur Sanders is seen as the ideal fit for Arthur Smith’s offensive scheme.
“I had someone who I trust tell me that if you bring in Shedeur Sanders to Pittsburgh, he actually is exactly what Arthur Smith would like because he’s going to do exactly what you are supposed to do. He’s going to play in the pocket. He’s going to run your offense. I think Shedeur is probably further along than people realize in the sense that he’s played a lot of football with Jackson State and Colorado. Won a lot of games, and he has not had great offensive line play.”
In recent days, the rumors have been gaining momentum that the Steelers could consider Sanders with the 21st pick in the draft, believing that the young prospect from Colorado could turn them into Super Bowl contenders.
Are the Steelers going to get a quarterback?
The Steelers seem to be on track to get a quarterback in the 2025 draft, with Shedeur Sanders leading a list that could also include other players like Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe, or Will Howard.
Everything will depend on whether Sanders falls to the 21st spot in the first round because, if not, all signs point to the Steelers waiting until the third round to select a quarterback. It’s important to remember that the Steelers lost their second-round pick in the trade with the Seahawks for DK Metcalf.
