The Aaron Rodgers offseason storyline continues to unfold. The Pittsburgh Steelers are still waiting for the four-time MVP quarterback to decide if he will play for the black and gold franchise in the 2025 NFL season. In the meantime, new faces are joining Mike Tomlin‘s team.
Rodgers’ situation has fans and players alike weighing in on the 41-year-old veteran’s possible arrival in Pittsburgh. One new acquisition that has arrived to bolster the Tomlin‘s Steelers defense is safety Daniel Ekuale. Like so many others, he wasn’t shy when asked about his potential new teammate.
Ekuale joined the Steelers in late March on a one-year deal. The 31-year-old veteran comes to Pittsburgh with seven years of NFL experience, having previously played for the Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars and New England Patriots. His words focused on Rodgers.
Ekuale’s admission about Rodgers
“I feel like he’s still got some fire underneath him. I feel like last year with the Achilles injury, I feel like he gonna bounce back big this year. So me playing against him, he is a very elite, on that level. Knowing defenses and making checks, all these stuff that all these offenses know. So, I feel like with A-Rod, man, I just hope the Steelers get him,” Ekuale said about the possible arrival of Rodgers to Pittsburgh, in an interview with Chipped Ham and Football podcast.

Daniel Ekuale, the new player of the Steelers
Ekuale relived the confrontations he had with Rodgers when he was his NFL rival, so he knows firsthand what A-Rod is capable of on the field. With that in mind, his statement is yet another indication of what the former Green Bay Packers quarterback can bring to Pittsburgh next season.

Will Rodgers join the Steelers?
Speculation has begun to grow. The Steelers are waiting on Rodgers, but are beginning to lose patience as the one-year contract offer is already in the hands of A-Rod, who continues to delay in responding. Pittsburgh is optimistic that they will have an answer before the draft at the end of the month.
