The decision regarding what may ultimately happen with Aaron Rodgers ahead of the upcoming NFL season is far from being resolved. However, certain clues link him to the Pittsburgh Steelers, such as a recent conversation between the former Green Bay Packers player and one of Mike Tomlin‘s stars.

Talented tight end Pat Freiermuth is hopeful of catching passes from Rodgers next season, something that could eventually happen if the QB decides to join one of the top contenders in the AFC North.

In a recent conversation with Andrew Fillipponi and Chris Mueller of ‘93.7 The Fan,’ the former Penn State Nittany Lions player revealed that he had contacted Rodgers through social media, though he has yet to get his phone number for a more direct and fluid conversation.

“Yeah, I’ve been in contact,” the TE Pat Freiermuth said. “It’s not his phone number. I’ve just been DM-ing on my Instagram. I haven’t gotten past the DM phase.”

Recently, the New York franchise added two prominent quarterbacks, which could indicate they are stepping back from the Rodgers race. Along with the signing of Jameis Winston, they also added Russell Wilson.

Indeed, Wilson’s departure from Pittsburgh could open the door for the former Jets QB to join the Steelers, something that, for now, remains far from being resolved.
