Aaron Rodgers has reportedly informed members of his staff that his next team will be the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to a report by Diana Russini. Despite interest from the New York Giants and a slight possibility with the Minnesota Vikings, Mike Tomlin would have his quarterback.
“There are some who even say that his camp has said that it’s going to be the Steelers. Nobody in Pittsburgh believes that though. Nobody has said anything official at this moment.”
Rodgers faces the biggest decision of his career as he tries to win his second Super Bowl. Although the Giants would offer more money, the roster construction will be the key factor in determining where he ultimately signs.
Is Aaron Rodgers a free agent?
Yes, Aaron Rodgers is a free agent after being released by the New York Jets, giving him the ability to sign with any team he wants. Russini also mentioned that the decision would come soon.
“Right now, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants have discussed a contract and what that would look like in terms of money and structure with Aaron Rodgers’ camp. So, they know what’s on the table and which team is going to do what and pay. He has told them, at least his representation has shared with both teams that he will be making decisions soon.”
