NFL News: Mike Tomlin and Steelers could sign Super Bowl champion quarterback if Aaron Rodgers chooses Vikings or retirement

If Aaron Rodgers chooses the Vikings or calls it quits, Mike Tomlin and the Steelers could make a big move by signing a Super Bowl champion quarterback. With a rich history of success, this veteran could bring the experience and leadership Pittsburgh needs to make a deep playoff run.

The Pittsburgh Steelers could consider signing Joe Flacco, according to a report by Mike Florio. This would happen if Aaron Rodgers rejects the offer to be part of Mike Tomlin’s team.

“Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson are getting the headlines. Joe Flacco is waiting patiently to see how it plays out. Flacco recently visited the Giants. He’s in play, we’re told, for jobs with the Steelers, Browns, and Vikings. Eventually, he’ll get an offer. Maybe more than one. And if the Steelers are looking to go cheaper than Rodgers at the position, Flacco could be their best move.”

Flacco has a lot of experience in AFC North football. The veteran won the Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens and revamped the Cleveland Browns’ offense, leading them to an unexpected playoff appearance.

Who will start at QB for Pittsburgh Steelers?

The Pittsburgh Steelers have not confirmed who will be their starting quarterback for the upcoming season, and at the moment, the only two names officially on the roster are Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson.

That QB1 position could be reserved for Aaron Rodgers, but if the star rejects the offer, the door opens for names like Flacco, Russell Wilson, and even Jameis Winston.
