Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers are not going to tie themselves to Aaron Rodgers, and their plan for the future is already underway. According to a report by Gerry Dulac, there are already two names they might select in the first round of the draft.
āThey have a first-round grade on Jaxson Dart and they really like Shedeur Sanders. Despite whatever post was put out there that he had a terrible meeting and it did not go well. Nothing could be further from the truth. They like the guy. They had a great meeting with him.ā
Dulac refers to a previous report by Aaron Wilson which stated that Shedeurās visit ādid not go wellā and that the player āwill not be a Pittsburgh Steeler.ā However, according to this new version, Tomlin sees Sanders as the key piece to becoming a Super Bowl contender once again.
What quarterback will Steelers sign?
The Steelers want to sign Aaron Rodgers, but since the veteran still hasnāt chosen Pittsburgh, itās practically a given that the team will select a quarterback in the early rounds of the draft.
On their board, Shedeur Sanders and Jaxson Dart are at the very top, although the big question is whether the Colorado prospect will fall to the No. 21 spot. Additionally, thereās no guarantee that Dart wonāt be taken earlier, which would activate the plan to draft names like Jalen Milroe or Will Howard in the third round.
