The potential key weapon for Geno Smith joining the Raiders is none other than wide receiver Tommy Mellott, who was selected by the franchise in the sixth round of the NFL Draft. Mellott stands out for his versatility, having also played quarterback at Montana State University.
The Raiders announced Mellott as a wide receiver, making him a potential key weapon for Smith and the eighth of the team’s eleven draft picks to secure his rookie deal. At the same time, three drafted players have yet to sign their contracts: second-round wide receiver Jack Bech, third-round cornerback Darien Porter, and fourth-round wide receiver Dont’e Thornton Jr.

A new offense for the Raiders
In addition to the arrival of Smith, Las Vegas has made key signings to shake things up on offense. Veteran running back Raheem Mostert signed a one-year deal worth $2.1 million. Guard Alex Cappa also joined the team on a two-year, $11.2 million contract.
