During a special appearance on the ‘Deep Cut’ podcast with Vic Blends, Tom Brady mentioned three specific teams for which he might come out of retirement if he receives a call during the 2024 season.







Blends presented a scenario in which the 49ers lost their quarterback, Brock Purdy, due to injury, and Brady received an emergency call to replace him in the late stages of the season. He argues that if the Cowboys aren’t sold on Dak as their quarterback for the future, the timing seems right for them to move on from him and still get something valuable in return:



“If Dallas isn’t going to sign Prescott to an extension, why would they keep him for just a single season and only get a third-round compensatory consideration (the pick isn’t guaranteed) in 2026?” Drummond asked. “If Dallas doesn’t draft a QB in this draft, they have O’Connell compete with Trey Lance for QB1 status in training camp. Having two first-round picks in 2025 allows them to use them to find a future QB or add high-pedigree youth, which is what they do best as an organization.”

Jimmy Garoppolo just received a new opportunity with the Los Angeles Rams as the backup quarterback of Matthew Stafford. Before this adventure with head coach Sean McVay, the 32-year old player admitted he is the one to blame for the upcoming suspension.

The team gave up a lot to get the veteran quarterback from the Seattle Seahawks in 2022, but Wilson looked like a shell of himself in Denver. Not even Sean Payton’s arrival in 2023 could fix the offense, so the franchise simply gave up on Wilson before having to afford his salary for yet another year.



But while the Broncos no longer believe the 35-year-old is the right guy for the job, it’s safe to say a number of teams could see him as the answer to their offensive struggles. Let’s take a look at some of those clubs.



<h2>Raiders</h2>



The <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/las-vegas-raiders">Las Vegas Raiders</a> have emerged as a possible landing spot for Wilson as soon as the news broke. It make sense, since we’re talking about a franchise that comes from a terrible experience with Jimmy Garoppolo at QB1 in 2023.

Newly hired head coach Raheem Morris has <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/falcons-hc-raheem-morris-throws-desmond-ridder-taylor-heinicke-under-the-bus-20240227-BUS-107747.html">made that clear</a> heading into 2024, so Wilson could be the perfect target for the team.



After 14 years with Matt Ryan at quarterback, Atlanta has struggled to find stability at the position. Marcus Mariota left a lot to be desired in 2022, but Desmond Ridder couldn’t win the job in 2023 either.

With the new head coach admitting poor quarterback play last season, the only thing that remains to be seen is who will be the new signal-caller in Atlanta. Wilson could be a great option to improve in the short term, so we’ll have to wait and see.



<h2>Steelers</h2>



Perhaps the team that has been linked the most with him this offseason, the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/pittsburgh-steelers">Pittsburgh Steelers</a> and Russell Wilson could make a perfect match. Kenny Pickett still has many believers, but others claim it’s time to make a win-now move and the former Seahawks star could provide just that.

There’s no doubt that Davante Adams is a star in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/nfl">NFL</a>. However, because of the absence of a competent quarterback, his numbers suffered a clear decline last season. 1144 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns compared to 1516 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2022. 



As Antonio Pierce said, their initial goal is to dethrone <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/patrick-mahomes">Patrick Mahomes</a> and the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/kansas-city-chiefs">Kansas City Chiefs</a> in the AFC West. In order to build that championship roster, a trade could make sense to acquire assets.

Surprisingly, it looks like numerous teams will have to fight for Fields’ services. NFL Media and CBS reported that the Steelers are interested in trading with the Bears for their player, but it is not the only club in the AFC that wants him.

After the news broke out, the most probable scenario is that the Las Vegas Raiders will release Jimmy Garoppolo. They have to make the move in the next few weeks considering a $11.25 million roster bonus will trigger on March if he remains with the team. 







Then, Garoppolo will join a very interesting list of veteran free agents at the quarterback position toward the 2024 season. Kirk Cousins, Ryan Tannehill, Baker Mayfield, Gardner Minshew, Jameis Winston and Jacoby Brissett.

He did lead the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/san-francisco-49ers" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">San Francisco 49ers</a> to a <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/super-bowl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Super Bowl</a> berth, although the team wasn’t able to get the job done.



Harbaugh didn’t get off to the best start at Ann Arbor, struggling to beat Ohio State for years. But now that he’s taken Michigan back to the mountaintop, it’s also, ironically, the best time to leave his Alma Mater.



With two suspensions under his belt and potentially looking at another one next season, there’s no reason to put his reputation in jeopardy any longer. Also, he just led the team to a National Champioship, and there’s no way to go any higher now.

So, with multiple job openings in the pros and a lot of well-documented interest in his services, it’s only natural to think that Harbaugh will go back to the place he should’ve never left. With that in mind, let’s take a look at his three likeliest destinations.

Interim HC Antonio Pierce has done a solid job with the Las Vegas Raiders, and word around the league is that he has plenty of internal support to keep the job on a full-time basis.



Nonetheless, Mark Davis is also reportedly keeping tabs on Harbaugh’s availability and decision, as he would love to have someone with experience leading the way. They’ve messed up way too many times, and they cannot afford another mistake.



<h2>2. New England Patriots</h2>



The New England Patriots still need to figure out what to do with Bill Belichick. Firing him should be out of the question, as it would be a terrible look. Then again, he might not want to get traded, as his next team would have to give up draft picks to get him.



Whatever the case, Belichick won’t be in Foxboro next season. Harbaugh comes with experience and a winning mindset to finally turn this culture around and get back to their winning ways.

The Washington Commanders finally parted ways with Ron Rivera, which is far from a surprise, all things considered. He failed to establish his defensive expertise there and the team never actually competed with the rest of the NFC East Division.
