The Minnesota Vikings do not want to sign Aaron Rodgers despite recent reports from Mike Silver and Dianna Russini pointing to a possible interest in the veteran quarterback. Adam Schefter confirmed that, with many rumors swirling, there is no chance of that happening.
āIām not including Minnesota in the Aaron Rodgers conversation until I have a reason to have some form of evidence that thatās something we need to take realistically.ā
The information indicates that head coach Kevin OāConnell trusts that J.J. McCarthy is the right one to lead the franchise to the Super Bowl. Although Rodgers is a very appealing name to replace Sam Darnold, that would not be the path to follow.
Who will be the Vikingsā starting quarterback?
J.J. McCarthy will be the starting quarterback for the Vikings in the 2025 season after Sam Darnold signed with the Seattle Seahawks. Schefter is convinced that the Vikings have no doubts about it.
āNow, there are no absolutes this time of year and anything can always happen, but I just donāt view that as a primary option right now (Aaron Rodgers). Minnesota to me is setting sail with J.J. McCarthy. I think people forget he was the 10th overall pick in the draft and he was competing last year to where he very well might have been the starting quarterback in opening day. Theyāre counting on him to be their starting quarterback.ā
