That has sparked multiple trade rumors around the NFL suggesting that, in order to get something in return, Pittsburgh might be willing to part ways with one of its cornerstones. Adding more fuel to the debate, team owner Art Rooney II has now received a surprising recommendation.

Patrick Rooney Jr., grandson of owner Art Rooney, stated at The Palm Beach Kennel Club that the Steelers should not pay T.J. Watt $40 million per season. A message that has sparked major controversy.
It’s important to note that Pat has no official ties to the organization. “T.J. is a great player. A great Steeler. But, it’s insane to pay him anything right now. Absolutely insane. He’s 31 years old. But, again, if you’re going all-in this year, then you’re going to have to re-sign him. You’re making moves right now that show you’re trying to do something this year. That, to me, based on everything we’ve seen over the last few years, seems insane.”
