The AFC East appears, at least on paper, to be a more balanced division than it was last season. While the Miami Dolphins did lose some key pieces, they’ve managed to replace them effectively in order to help Tua Tagovailoa—with the clear goal of becoming a serious contender in the NFL.

The talented quarterback of Mike McDaniel’s team knows he’ll be well-supported on offense. Beyond that, one of his running backs has promised a greater level of commitment heading into Week 1—something that has fans in South Florida feeling optimistic.

During a recent conversation with Kay Adams on the Up & Adams show, Jaylen Wright spoke about the upcoming season, emphasizing his intention to be more involved in the offense alongside his teammates.

“Pass game, I’m going to be way more involved this year,” the RB said. “Way more involved just in everything. Run game, pass game, pass protection, everything, so it’s going to be really good.”

“I just really feel like and I know I can be a top back in this league,” he also added. “I feel like just my skill set, my ability and the system I’m in, it sets me up to be great.
It’s a long season, staying the course, doing what I got to do every time I touch that rock, every time the ball comes to me just make a play. I’m very excited. I’m very blessed to be in this position. It’s going to be a very great year this year.”

A season full of promise

The Miami Dolphins enter the upcoming season with high aspirations, but significant questions linger, particularly regarding quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s durability. His ability to remain healthy throughout the rigorous schedule will be paramount for the team’s success.

Furthermore, the offense will need to adjust without Jonnu Smith, while the defense must compensate for the absence of Jalen Ramsey, despite the return of veteran Fitzpatrick providing a familiar presence.

Despite these changes, the Dolphins’ primary offensive weapon remains Tyreek Hill, who will be crucial to their scoring efforts. The team’s immediate objective is to contend fiercely for the AFC East title, aiming to finally unseat the Buffalo Bills from their divisional dominance.

Ultimately, the ultimate goal for Miami is a deep playoff run and a shot at the Super Bowl. While the path through the AFC is notoriously challenging, if Tagovailoa can stay on the field and the team’s stars perform at their peak, the Dolphins possess the talent to be a legitimate contender.
