The relationship between McAvoy and Marchand, in particular, transcended sport, as Marchand demonstrated during the Four Nations tournament. Despite the rivalry on the ice, Marchand couldn’t help but contact McAvoy after learning of his shoulder injury. “Chucky is one of my best friends. I care a lot about him,” Marchand told reporters.
