Argentina head into the resumption of the South American World Cup Qualifiers for Qatar 2022 with plenty of hope. Only a few months ago, they ended a long drought by winning the 2021 Copa America and now have their sights set on the next World Cup. Unfortunately, Sergio Kun Aguero won’t be in the squad this time.
The 33-year-old who joined Barcelona this summer has not been through easy times lately, being hampered by injuries and even missing out on the opportunity of playing alongside Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou.
Aguero left Manchester City after a successful ten-year spell in which he left an indelible mark. He hasn’t, however, ended his tenure in the best possible way and now has to keep on waiting to bounce back.
Why is Sergio Kun Aguero missing Argentina’s games in the 2022 Qatar WC Qualifiers?
One of the most prolific strikers in the Premier League history, Aguero became a Citizens legenddue to his fantastic performances and historic goals that provided titles. But those days seem to be a bit behind him, as he struggled to remain fit over the last few seasons.

Now, Sergio Aguero will miss the South American World Cup Qualifiers triple-fixture after suffering a tendon injury in his right calf last August 9. Barcelona announced that Kun would be sidelined for nearly 10 weeks.
Unfortunately, Aguero’s debut forBarcelona will have to wait until October at theearliest. This setback has also ruled him out for a challenging international window for Argentina, where he doesn’t have thestarting role secured anymore.
