The 2020 season will be the sixth for the New York City Football Club in the MLS and a new opportunity for the teamto clinchits first MLS Cup trophy. The Group Stage schedule have been released and the NYCFC will compete in Group A, along with Orlando City SC, Inter Miami FC, and Philadelphia Union.
The MLS is Back tournament isa new World Cup-style format competition to finish the seasonin just four weeks. NYCFC and Philadelphia Union are two of the group favorites to qualify for the Round of 16. However, theywill face each other in their first game.
The match between NYCFC and Philadelphia Union will be played onWednesday, July 9, in which couldbe one of the most attactive gamesof the group. New York City FCnext encounter will be against Orlando City SC on Tuesday, July 14, while their last Group A match will be vs. Inter Miami CF on Monday, July 20.

The team is confident of qualifying for the Knockout Stage and pursue their first MLS Cup trophy. If NYCFC ends first or second place in Group A, they will play their Round 16 game on Saturday, July 25.
All 26 teamswill be playing at theESPN Wide World of Sports Complex onWalt Disney World Resort, Florida witha day-long schedulethat’ll have teams divided into six groups.The knockout stage will feature a round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, andobviously, a grand final. All outcomes will settle after 90 minutes and tied gameswill go straight to a penalty shootout, with no extra time.
