Italy will come against England at the Wembley Stadium in London on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at 3:00 PM (ET) in the UEFA European Championship 2020 FinalThe Wembley Stadium in London will host the tournament finale since it has the highest capacity of all of the stadiums.

This will be their 28th overall meeting. Italy are the slight favorites in head-to-head clashes, having celebrated a victory on 11 occasions so far; England have grabbed a triumph eight times to this day, and an equal number of eight games have ended in a draw.

Their most recent game was played on March 27, 2018, when the Azzurri salvaged a late 1-1 draw in an International Friendly. It promises to be an even more exciting clash as these two countries clash for the first time in more than three years, this time to determine the new Euro 2020 champion.

How many UEFA European Championship Finals have Italy played in?

Italy have taken part in four UEFA European Championship Finals, including the Euro 2020 edition. This is their 10th big finale in a major tournament (six World Cup Finals and four Euro Finals), with only Germany (14) appearing in more grand finals. Italy won the European Championship in 1968 but lost its two final competitive outings (2000 and 2012).

Italy have finished second in the European Championship twice, losing to France in 2000 and Spain in 2012. Only Germany and the Soviet Union have finished as runners-up three times more than Italy in the tournament. At the major events, the Azzurri have never lost to England (three wins and one draw), winning 1-0 in Euro 1980, 2-1 in the 1990 and 2014 World Cups, and a goalless 0-0 draw before winning on penalties in Euro 2012.

Two football matches at the Olympic Stadium in Rome on June 8 and June 10, 1968, marked the winner of the UEFA Euro 1968. It was UEFA's third European Championship Finals, as Italy and the former Yugoslavia fought for the title. It took the Azzurri another 32 years to participate in a UEFA Euro Final. In the Euro 2000 Final, unfortunately for Italy, they lost to France 2-1 in the Netherlands. Then in Euro 2012, Italy lost another Final after suffering a tough 4-0 defeat to Spain in Ukraine.
