Real Madrid is in the market for a forward, as if they really need one, but it looks like Florentino Pérez’s side wants to make a big push for the UEFA Champions League this season and want a “out of favor” forward to push the club to that objective.
While the forward in question would not come to take the spot of any player, Madrid is stacked at the attacking positions with Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio, Luka Jović, and Rodrygo, according to 90 minutes it’s this Manchester United forward’s work rate that has Florentino Pérez thinking he could be the right fit.
The forward in question is Edinson Cavani, 34, the Uruguayan striker with an exceptional work rate, Cavani would be brought in to have a much bigger role than he is having at Manchester United currently with the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo. Here are further details about the January loan of Edinson Cavani to Real Madrid.

Edinson Cavani has been hit by the injury bug to start the season as he has only played 2 games and has 0 goals. Nonetheless the pedigree of the athletic forward is unquestionable. Cavani scored 10 goals in 26 outings last season, while also dealing with the pandemic and injuries.
Cavani provided player of the month performances for United near the end of last season and extended his contract after rumors surfaced about a move to Argentine power Boca Juniors. This season the arrival of Ronaldo and other attacking options have left playing time wanting for the Uruguayan. Real Madrid would be another big club pit stop in a hall of fame career for the three-time World Cup veteran.
With World Cup qualifying and the looming 2022 World Cup, Cavani will want to be playing and if Real Madrid’s offer is serious, it would be a wise stop for the attacker. The question is whether Cavani is expendable for Manchester United.
